Privacy, in plain English

1What we collect

• Your email address. Used for receipts, perk delivery, review updates, and the occasional project update. Rare, and easy to leave.
• Purchase details. Which squares you own, what you paid, and when. Card numbers stay with Stripe; we never see or store them.
• Your square content. The images, names, links, and colors you upload. This content is public by design, because rendering it on the grid is the entire point.
• Basic analytics. Page views and clicks via PostHog, so we can see what works. No ad tracking, no cross site profiles.

2Who touches the data

Five services help run the project. Each one only receives what it needs for its single role:

Each processor handles data under its own privacy terms, and we picked them because those terms are solid.

3What we never do

• Sell your data. Not to anyone, not for any price, not ever.
• Share it with advertisers or data brokers. There is no ad tech on this site.
• Spam you. Project emails are rare, and every one has a working unsubscribe link.

4The grid is public on purpose

Whatever you put on a square, its color, name, link, and image, is visible to everyone. That is the product. Perks that publish something about you, like the Supporter Directory, only ever show what you submitted for them.

Your email address and your purchase details are never public. Only your square content is.

5Deletion and your choices

• Email hello@the1millionsquareproject.com to delete your account data, clear your square content, or both.
• We may keep minimal purchase records where accounting rules require it, and nothing more.
• Clearing your square content does not cost you the square. It stays yours, quietly blank, until you fill it again.

6Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update lands on this page with a fresh date up top. If a change is meaningful, buyers get an email about it too.
